A summary of the August gathering of Newcastle's Kindred.

This month the kindred arrived with a slight air of expectancy. Persons unknown had put their long time enemy, Arcus Masterton, in hospital and rumours abounded about a possible praxis seizure being planned for the evening. However, things began as ever with the usual suspects arriving and getting down to usual court business.

Not long into the evening there was a slight disturbance at the door when a mortal arrived and promptly attempted to commit suicide. It seemed he was one of the nurses attending to Arcus Masterton and had been sent as a message that Arcus was not out of the picture and still intended to destroy the kindred of Newcastle. Thanks to the quick thinking of Willamina the gentleman was saved, but the incident put a dampener on the atmosphere as it seemed Arcus was not as defeated as they had hoped.

Just as things were returning to normal Alexander Gideon chose to make his entrance. Having previously been consigned to five years in torpor by Prince Black his arrival caused somewhat of a stir; even more so when he declared himself Prince in Mr. Black's absence. This was met with a mixed reception, which quickly degenerated into a shouting match, it was agreed that the Primogen would retire to discuss the matter and prevent intervention from outside forces.

During this recess it came to light that several of the gathered kindred had been suffering from visions throughout the evening. They all seemed to involve the same small boy, Nigel, who was being forced to kill an unarmed man by some kind of scientist. It was decided that the kindred must have been somehow tapping into his experiences meaning the events were currently taking place. However, with nothing more to go on there was little else that they could do at that moment in time.

There were a couple of other visitors to the court, but they never made it past security into the body of the meeting. One was rumoured to be the mage in possession of a dragon's egg who was at the last court and the other was assumed to be a member of the Brotherhood of Pangu. However, it was not long before the Primogen returned and announced that there would be a new ruler in Newcastle, but that it would be the Primogen council. A representative from each Covernant would make up the ruling council with Alexander Gideon being named regent, a position of leadership in military matters but otherwise a simple figurehead. This decision sent further ripples round the court, which immediately fractured into small groups to discuss the new situation.

During this time the new Regent slipped out along with The Baron, Prince of Middlesbrough, Rev. Black and Michael Anderson. They returned a couple of hours later claiming to have finally killed Arcus Masterton whilst he lay recovering in hospital from Gideon's earlier attack. Both The Baron and Rev. Black seemed somewhat exhausted from the fight, but the two Khaibit seemed in high spirits having disposed of a major enemy of the city.

Celebrations where short lived as everyone present was able to witness the final chapter of Nigel's story. Each kindred saw a vision of the eight-year-old boy being led out in front of a firing squad and executed. It took some time for the silence to end, but the evening ended on a low as the kindred dispersed back into the night to ponder on the events of the evening.
