Camarilla UK: Newcastle

A summary of the November gathering of Newcastle's Kindred.

The evening began with the now familiar faces of Newcastle arriving at the Hilton Hotel to attend Prince Wodenson’s court. As usual the Prince was notable by his absence and this time Sheriff McKay was also missing. Jimmy, however, was back on door duty and did a good job of getting everyone in and settled down.

Conversation naturally turned to the curse that was still affecting the kindred of the domain and whilst most people were no further forwards in terms of a cure, a couple had apparently struck a deal with the local Auguries to help lift the hex. However, the arrival of several new kindred (eight in total) diverted the topic of conversation for some time as people became acquainted and updated on the domains current affairs.

Eventually Marcus Vinchetti, the head of the Auguries, arrived at the court and was quickly taken to one side by Vincent and Victor. There was some discussion about the augury that sneaked into court a few months ago and he was eventually returned to Vinchetti. Marcus then read allowed a scroll and informed the court that the curse would be lifted in the next couple of hours.

Things continued at a slow pace with people waiting to see if they would again be able to feed. A commotion at the door then drew the attention of the court as the Prince made his entrance somewhat bedraggled and injured. Sending Jimmy to retrieve his sword from the car he took a seat and called his Primogen. After chastising them for allowing the curse to come into effect, which apparently accounted for how he came off the worst against the beast he ordered a new Pricus and Primongen member to be found to represent the growing numbers. Alexander Gideon was elected to serve on the Primogen council whilst Master William Lumley stepped up as the Ventrue Pricus.

Things seemed to be settling down when a new figure entered the court and announced his presence. Carrying the Prince’s sword in one hand and the head of Jimmy in the other, Peter Jacobs (the legendary dragon beast and kindred killer) called out the Prince. Accepting the challenge the Prince and Mr. Jacobs exchanged blows interspersed with speeches about how right was on their side. Finally Jacobs got the upper hand and broke the Prince’s neck. He then said he would do no more killing this month in memory of old fallen comrades and left.

An irate Prince slowly pulled himself together and after venting a little steam on those close by left. Apparently whilst he finishes business with the dragon he has left the court in the hands of the Primogen. People soon followed, leaving the building a little confused and scared as to how long the city can stand against such a creature.
