Camarilla UK: Newcastle

A summary of the August gathering of Newcastle's Kindred.

As expected only a handful of souls were brave enough to step foot inside the boundaries of Newcastle and attend the first court held by Prince Wodenson. They made there way to the Oakwellgate suite in the Newcastle and Gateshead Hilton Hotel to try to stake a claim in this new territory. At the door they were met by the Keeper of the Elysium, Jimmy, a cockney by accent who took no risks as he physically searched all those who entered. Once inside the Sheriff, Mr. McKay, barked orders at people and kept the meeting under strict control. Whilst this seemed to aggravate the guests, they still managed pleasantries and awaited the appearance of the Prince.

The Prince arrived quietly, handing a sword to Jimmy as he entered, and had a quiet word with Mr. McKay before addressing the assembled kindred. His speech was little more than confirming the rumours that all were welcome in the domain and that he personally pledged to deal with whatever had been causing the deaths for all these years. He then laid out the position he wanted filled in his court and then left for a time to attend to 'pressing matters'. No sooner had he left the room than the vying for positions began.

Shortly after the Prince's departure a representative arrived from the Sunderland court to make a formal introduction. It was clear that the Sheriff and this Adrian character had some past history and heated remarks past between them. In between bouts of hostility he managed to extend a welcome and a condescending offer of help form Prince Thorneby of Sunderland. After a while of his civil insults, Adrian was physically removed from the building by Jimmy and the court returned to the matter of ceasing positions of power.

The Prince's return caused a little bit of a stir due to the fact his hands were covered in blood and a few of the kindred were feeling a little hungry. However, everyone was able to maintain their composure and the event passed without incident. After cleaning himself up Wodenson spoke to those who had managed to claim a title for themselves. He spoke briefly with Mick Cooper who had claimed the title of Pricus before spending a fair amount of time in discussion with Vincent Black who had been elected to join his Primogen council alongside the Sheriff. Finally he outlined his desires to Karla van Heerden who had assumed the role of his Harpy. He then slipped away again leaving the meeting to run down shortly after.

The evening came to and end with several people leaving have carved a name for themselves, whilst others left to re-think their tactics for the next meeting. All left keeping one eye on the shadows for monsters and wondering Newcastle was a good move or not.
